Jacob & Co. Epic X Chrono Tourbillon Blue Titanium Watch

Jacob & Co. Epic X Chrono Tourbillon Blue Titanium Watch For those who live well and mean business, any of Jacob & Co.'s over-the-top collections will fit like a glove. But if this guy also wants something a little sportier that doesn't just pretend to be sporty, with fast stripes and body creases, but something that actually fits his rough and tumble lifestyle, then the Epic X Series has the charm. Replacing the horological wonders of the company's high-complication timepieces with colored gemstones atop glass cases or bulky precious metal cases, the Epic Be it the threat of spiders, or the idealized body lines of a competitive swimmer.

In this range, the Chrono Tourbillon Blue Titanium is arguably the most convenient, and by no means a handful. At 47mm thick it's a huge watch, but the 14mm case height maintains a reasonable aspect ratio. Additionally, the watch remains lightweight and wear-resistant, as it is made entirely of titanium rather than precious metals, and has a blue PVD coating to prevent scratches. The crown, pushers and lug inserts in white ceramic provide color contrast while keeping the weight low and giving a nautical impression. Additionally, the Chrono Tourbillon Blue Titanium is water-resistant to 200 meters.

While the Chrono Tourbillon Blue Titanium forgoes the gemstones characteristic of Jacob & Co. watches, it adds excitement to the watch with a flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock that replaces the hours counter in a traditional chronograph. The watch's internal rotating bezel adds a lot of everyday practicality, and is operated via the crown at 10 o'clock. For timekeeping activities that do not require the precision of a chronograph, a rotating minute track is a simple and convenient solution.

Another feature that allows the watch to show off as much as possible is the translucent blue dial. Paired with a sapphire crystal glass case back and hollow hands, the effect of the new exclusive automatic winding movement JCAA09 (with column wheel) is fully demonstrated. The semi-skeletonized movement features an open barrel, engraved bridges, circular graining on the mainplate, and beveled and polished column wheel.

The Epic This makes it more suitable for daily wear and can be used for swimming anytime. A complex tourbillon watch that is durable enough to go most places the wearer wants to go. In this watch, the hollow design of the hands, dial and movement, as well as the white hollow rubber strap with honeycomb pattern, create a relaxed and lively overall effect. This is a cool watch for someone who is calm and confident.

There is some duplication between the small seconds at 9 o'clock and the one-minute flying tourbillon; but the latter does much more than show that the watch is running. As a flying tourbillon without an upper bridge, it sits flush with the glass dial, transforming a handsome movement into a stunning piece.
